Printable 5x5 Futoshiki Puzzles (Medium)

The everyday size: a 5x5 grid leaves room for real chains of deduction without taking over your afternoon. Good for regular solvers and older students.

This first pack has six Futoshiki puzzles with an answer key on the second page. Each grid has 14 to 16 greater-than and less-than signs.

How to solve

  • Latin square: Each row and column holds every number from 1 to N exactly once.
  • Obey the signs: A sign between two cells says which one is larger. The open side faces the bigger number.
  • Givens: Some puzzles start with a few numbers printed.
  • Chains: A run of signs like a > b > c means the first cell is at least 3.

Free to print and copy for home, classroom and library use. Every puzzle has one answer you can reach by logic alone.
