About NoriNori Puzzles
NoriNori is a Japanese shading puzzle from Nikoli. The grid is split into outlined regions. You shade exactly two cells in each region, and every shaded cell must touch exactly one other shaded cell, so the shading forms a set of dominoes that never touch side to side.
How to solve NoriNori
- Two per region: Every outlined region contains exactly two shaded cells.
- Dominoes only: Each shaded cell touches exactly one other shaded cell, side by side.
- No touching: Different dominoes may touch at corners but never along an edge.
- Across borders: A domino may cross a region border, counting once for each region.
Reading the sheet
- Thick lines outline the regions.
- Shaded cells in the answer key show the dominoes.
Questions
Where should I start a NoriNori?
Look for two-cell regions: both cells are shaded, so every cell around them stays white.
