About Light Up Puzzles
Light Up (Akari in Japanese) is a Nikoli puzzle about light bulbs in a room of black walls. A bulb lights its whole row and column until a wall stops it. Fill the room with light using bulbs that never see each other.
How to solve Light Up
- Light every cell: Every white cell must be lit by at least one bulb.
- Bulbs never see each other: Two bulbs may not share a row or column unless a wall sits between them.
- Numbered walls: A number on a wall says how many bulbs touch it on its four sides.
- Plain walls: Walls without a number can have any number of bulbs next to them.
Reading the sheet
- Black cells are walls.
- Circles in the answer key are bulbs.
Questions
Is Light Up the same as Akari?
Yes. Akari is the original Japanese name; Light Up is the common English one.
How do I save these as a PDF?
